Some suggested options for looking up flights & the bus to/from Cancun airport:

Flights can be to Merida or to Cancun. From Cancun an easy 4 hour bus ride booked at the Cancun airport with ADO to Altabrisa station in Merida. You do not need to pre-purchase ADO tickets online unless you are arriving before 9am or after 5pm, or on a Mexican holiday.

*Last direct ADO bus Cancun Airport to Altabrisa station in Merida is generally 7pm. Alternate, after this time, is ADO bus from Cancun airport to Cancun centro bus station and easy transfer onto another ADO bus that takes you into bus station in Merida Centro.
